Jamsheed Marker: Ambassador Extraordinaire

Ambassador Jamsheed Marker was one of the most illustrious Parsis of Pakistan. In a career spanning decades, he became one of the greatest diplomats the world has ever known. He was always proud of his Parsi roots and upbringing and of the country he came from and represented on the world stage, be it as Ambassador of Pakistan to various countries and the United Nations, or his work at the United Nations in nation-building.

During a visit to Karach in January 2016, I had the rare privilege to interview Ambassador Marker at his residence in Bath Island, thanks to my dear friend and mentor Aban Marker-Kabraji, his niece.

As it turned out, this was probably the last interview the great man gave before he passed away on June 21, 2018. The world was poorer in the passing away of this amazing man. The hour long talk just scratches the surface of the man, his work and life. Hope you enjoy this interview.
